Swindon crumbled to another disappointing defeat that leaves them thick in the relegation quagmire at the bottom of the League One table.

Town got off to the worst possible start when they went one behind as early as the first minute when Clive Platt nodded home the opener.

Swindon got back on level terms when Simon Cox fired home his 20th of the season from the penalty spot - after Billy Paynter had been fouled.

Just when it looked like the scores would be level at the break, Platt pounced on a poor punch from Peter Brezovan to score his and Colchester's second.

Once again Danny Wilson's men got back on level terms when Hal Robson-Kanu scored his 3rd goal in a Town shirt.

However, the 2-2 score-line didn't last long when the dangerous David Perkins sealed the win for the home side after a slip from new boy Owain Tudor Jones.

The defeat leave Swindon three points from safety and in desperate need of some more positive results in order to maintain their League One status.
